(10/01/09) Arroyo Grande, California was the winner of the Tidiness criteria award announced on Thursday, October 1, 2009 during the eighth annual America in Bloom (AIB) Symposium and Awards Program at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Turf & Ground cover management requires many aspects of consideration: The quality of naturalization, the use of ground covers and wild flowers, turf management (manicured to rough), and maintenance (mowing height/frequency, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), fertilization programs, irrigation, water restrictions).
The City of Arroyo Grande works with Arroyo Grande In Bloom to help maintain and beautify our city's turf & ground cover areas while also working to promote water and resource conservation through better management proceedures and ground cover plant selection.
